Home Select’s history and positioning
Home Select was founded in Paris in 2011 by Jean Mascla. Caroline Mascla chairs Home Select. The job has not changed since day one: searching, checking and negotiating for the buyer only, never for the seller.
Home Select holds the carte T professional licence and is a member of the FCI, the French Federation of Buyer’s Agents. Home Select has guided more than 1,200 buyers over fifteen years, from pied-à-terre studios to private mansions.
Since 2026, the method proven on France’s most demanding market extends city by city: the national desk runs every search, and Home Select draws on a network of 15,000 professional partners across the country.
The team
Home Select has 16 finders, independent commercial agents, covering Paris and Île-de-France. Each knows their micro-markets inside out.
In the regions, the search is run by the leadership of Home Select: framing, hunting, negotiation, securing, with viewings grouped into a single trip. As recruitment goes on, a local finder takes over the searches of their city.
The founder
Jean Mascla, founder of Home Select
An engineer by training, Jean Mascla first worked as an executive in a large corporation. He kept one conviction from those years: the relationship with the client shapes everything else.
Having bought through property professionals several times, for his own homes as well as long-term holdings, he found that the quality of service he expected was not always there. He founded Home Select in Paris in April 2011 to give buyers the standard he would have wanted to find.
He started as a buyer’s agent himself, in central and western Paris, before devoting himself to building Home Select. Fifteen years on, Home Select has guided more than 1,200 buyers, always on the same side of the table: the buyer’s.
Now based in Aix-en-Provence, Jean Mascla leads the opening of Home Select beyond the Île-de-France region, city by city, and is opening Provence himself. He works in French and English, and signs the guides of this website.

Home Select’s commitment: 100% on success
Home Select is paid on success only: nothing is due until you have bought. The fees are published (2.5% of the net purchase price, minimum €10,000 incl. VAT, or 1.5% for projects of €2m and above, plus 10% of the negotiated reduction), with no file fees and no financial commitment.
